‘My Learner ID’ supports Leaders by:

  • Responding with a framework to support 30 Statements of Highly Effective Practice in the new framework for school self-evaluation [Looking At Our Schools, A Quality Framework for Primary Schools, 2016]. 
  • Offering a foundation block to all Learner Support Files with the voice of the learner clearly articulating perspectives about the learning process and tracking an evolving learner identity over time.
  • Nurturing learner well-being through empowerment, responsibility, ownership and voice in learning.
  • Complimenting Aistear by developing learner dispositions and in nurturing children to see themselves as capable learners.
  • Balancing STen scores and promoting authentic assessment measures.
  • Fulfilling the intent of AFL and gently scaffolding teacher practice to align with current assessment policies.
  • Providing an authentic framework for Learner Recognition and Learner Responsibility across the school years.
  • Placing Learner Voice, Responsibility and Efficacy at the heart of school practice.
  • Providing a coherent, developmental and stage appropriate framework for tracking the voice of the learner through Assessment for Learning (AfL) methodologies, self and peer assessment opportunities, use of rubrics and opportunities to respond.
